It’s time Canada Apologizes for Slavery, says Black History Professor

On the 188th anniversary of emancipation, there are renewed calls for Canada to make a formal apology for the country’s history of slavery. Afua Cooper, a professor at Dalhousie University, says the ‘apology has never happened,’ and the federal government should make amends for the racial discrimination and segregation that followed the abolition of slavery.
